Board Approves Revised Distinguished Scholar


 

Starting with the class of 2013, New London Local Schools will create a Distinguished Scholar program.  The criteria for the Distinguished Scholar program is as follows:

1.     Cumulative GPA of 3.8 on a 4.0 scale for all High School level coursework

2.     Successful completion of at least 6 Advance, AP, Dual Enrollment, or PSEO courses

3.     Successful completion of at least 2 Advance, AP, Dual Enrollment, or PSEO courses during their senior year or one such course ant at least a 27 on the ACT.

The student that meets the above criteria with the highest GPA will be designated as the Valedictorian.  In addition, the student that meets the above criteria that has the second highest GPA will be designated as the Salutatorian. 

Accepted Courses:

Advanced Biology    Advanced Physical Science

College Chemistry    AP Biology

AP Calculus AB        AP Calculus BC

AP Statistics               College History

PSEO English            College Animal Science

French 4/5                  Spanish 4/5

schools, our students or our staff-anonymously, so as to protect your
privacy. For example, you may wish to report acts of violence, theft,
drug or alcohol use, weapons or sexual harassment.
 
Just call from a touch-tone phone to 1-800-4-1-VOICE, ext. 359 (418-6423) 
or go to www.safeschoolhelpline.com to leave your information. Your message will not be traced, and you
will not be identified. The Safe School Helpline team will transcribe and
fax your message to school officials, so appropriate action can be taken.
 
Thank you for your continued support to provide a better education for
all New London Local Schools students. If you have any questions about the Safe
School Helpline, please call your school principal.

Enter zip code 44851 and select New London.  Fill out the form and sign up for daily reminders.  The more votes the better our odds. Some questions that will be asked include: number of computers, 20-50; Technology goals (select the second option); educational technology is limited; Student use is once per week; we do not have technology based professional development.
