On Tuesday, February 14th, New London hosted the first of three rounds of the Academic Challenge Championships.  Western Reserve High School, Norwalk High School and New London High School participated in this event. The competition gives students a chance to show their knowledge and represent their schools.

High school students from New London gathered to watch and applauded each team's effort.  It was an extremely close match which ended with New London and Western Reserve tied with a score of 30 points, while Norwalk scored the highest, with 33 points.

Although New London did not earn the most points in the first round, they still have a chance to win the championship. There are two more rounds: one held at Norwalk and one held at Western Reserve.  Whichever team earns the most cumulative points at the end of the three rounds, wins the championship. The New London Academic Challenge Team has been working very hard all year, and we know they are capable of pulling out a win.
